To tubal or not
Hey Ladies. I want exactly sure where to post this so please bear with me. I'm a 37 year old mother of 5 with number 6 due 03/03/24. I've been on so many different birth control medications (from dual hormonal pills, mini pill, depo shot, nexplanon arm implant, non-hormonal paraguard IUD, and even the fertility tracking method/natural method). And i have gotten pregnant on almost every one. My first was on ortho trycyclin low, second on the depo shot, third again on ortho, 4th on a different dual pill. My very first was ectopic and on no BC. I had a 7 week blighted Ovum while trying for my first planned pregnancy so no BC. Then with my youngest we actively tried so again no birth control. I was using the natural method as well as the mini pill when i got pregnant this time around. Prior to this pregnancy i had a chemical while on the IUD. I DID NOT get pregnant on the nexplanon BUT I NEVER want to go back to that as my side effects coming off were beyond horrible. So far i have been pregnant 12 times and have 5 living children. (Ectopic, 1st born, 2nd born, 3rd born, chemical, 4th, MMC, chemical, 5th born, 2 chemicals, current pregnancy). I do not want to go back to hormonal birth control plus so many seem to not work for me. And I take them at the same time everyday with my other meds. Used secondary protection if i missed a day and abstsined when on antibiotics. That being said, my husband does not want anymore children, and while it's bittersweet and i don't want the chapter to end i know it's time to watch my children grow as my famiky is grown. Plus my pregnancies have gotten more complicated as I've gotten older. 37 and 6 kids is a lot, even with my oldest 3 living with their fathers. So now that story time is over i was wondering if anyone had any information about tubal litigation, specifically burning/tying. I want to do this while I'm at the hospital. For a full tubal removal i would have to go back at/after the 6 week mark and undergo surgery then. Hubs and i have discussed the option of him being snipped but he refuses to budge. (Deathly afraid of hospitals and needles). I know i can Google, and i will be speaking with my doctor around 28 weeks (currently 21+1) but i need input from others who have had this procedure. Side effects, healing time, periods afterwards, sex drive, etc. This is a huge thing to me and i dont want to make a hasty decision. Any input, even leading to information would be so helpful. So thank you in advance and blessed be.
