Ghost tour?

Has anyone been on a ghost tour? My boyfriend and I are planning to visit Gettysburg in Spring/Summer and I’m thinking of doing one. Also would it be appropriate for kids? Our daughter will be 6 and our son is 3. We aren’t going to look for ghosts or because it’s haunted, I just think it’d be an interesting place to visit.

It might be a bit too scary for the children, but otherwise, I would think that's an awesome idea. Personally, I would not take my daughter on a ghost tour. ￼

Look up the age requirements. Some require them to be 18+. The ones where I live are 18+

I’ve done several in NOLA and they aren’t scary at all.  See if there’s one more geared towards children.  The biggest obstacle may be the amount of walking

Yes. Went to the Haunted Encounters one on the Queen Mary and yes that age is too young. I allowed my 9 year old daughter to go on tour cause she had an interest in my Ghost Adventures show and shes older than a toddler, and she still got scared. Not doing that again til after shes like 13.

I’ve done a few, not in Gettysburg but some other  places. Most of the ones I’ve been on are late night so that’s probably not ideal for kids. They’re also a lot of walking/standing around which could also be a little challenging for kids. Idk if it would be too scary, since a lot of the talking is about the history of the area and who the ghosts are rumored to be. There’s also a lot of mature topics (murder, affairs, execution, tragedy) that idk if I’d want to explain to my child. They’re definitely more catered to adults so it could be boring/confusing for kids. I’ve done probably 5 different tours and none of them have had young kids. Youngest was probably like 8-10. You obviously know your kids best though. You could always call the tour and ask. Most have age recommendations.
