How can I get my toddler to eat?

My 3 year old barely eats. I don’t know what to do. He’s on the slim side and taller. He refuses breakfast all together and then will just random eat. Sometimes he will actually eat a sand which or slice of pizza but recently it’s like he will take a bite and then refuse it

Have him help make food! 
Do snack boards do he can pick and choose what he wants.
Do family style meals. Let him serve himself. 
Offer sprinkles and dips! Hummus, ranch, ketchup, hemp seeds, everything bagel seasoning, cinnamon, salt, pepper, paprika, chia seeds, cream cheese…etc. 
Don’t force meals. Multiple healthy snacks throughout the day is just fine. Most kids (and adults) do better with snacking all day vs 3 big meals a day. 
Don’t put pressure on eating. Lead by example. 
Offer offer offer! 
Encourage high protein foods

My daughter does a lot better when I refer to food as “snacks”. Lately my daughter hasn’t been wanting meals, she says several snacks throughout the day

Put a bunch of different healthy foods out on a plate, separated. Then just leave the plate in the area he is playing. Sometimes kids will eat without thinking, because they are hungrier than they think. I have done this before and the plate has gotten cleared. 
Definitely let him be with you while you’re preparing foods and explain what they are what good things each one does for our bodies.
