Husband starting Paxil-bad side effects

My husband started 10mg of Paxil on Monday and yesterday he started vomiting, full body sweats, nausea, chills, diarrhea, increased anxiety, insomnia… he wants to quite the meds and we are getting no help or guidance from the doctors.

My question to all of you is if you have experience taking Paxil, did you have side effects when starting? If so, how long did they last? Are you still taking Paxil? Does it work for anxiety?

Could be serotonin syndrome and he is not tolerating it. I am not a medical professional so it's always best to seek help from your doctor. Does he take other medications? He could also just be developing an illness since you mentioned it just started. Also, don't mix it with alcohol (in case he drinks). Does he have other med history because it can cause adverse reactions like that.

Stop for a few days then try again. So many bugs are going around right now that it'll be hard to tell if it's a medication side effect or a coincidental bug. Be sure he takes it with food and at night may go over better.

Side effects usually start within a week. If Paxil is affecting him negatively then it'd be best to discontinue use for a few days to see if his symptoms go away. If they don't it's not the Paxil. If they do they your husband will need to request a medication change.
