Soonest timeframe to retest after chlamydia

How soon can I retest after finishing chlamydia 7 day doxycycline treatment without getting a false positive? Has anybody tested a week or two after completing treatment and come back negative? Three months is so far away to test and I'm eager to know if the antibiotics worked and a negative result would ease my mind, but google is scaring me, as some people have said the doxycycline did not work for them. The provider at urgent care said that doxycycline is very effective and that people usually only come to retest for reinfection and not a test of cure, but I would feel more comfortable testing before engaging in sexual activity again.
