Why is it so hard to climax???

Question

I’ve only ever finished twice with two other men. My husband of 3 years I’ve probably finished 4-5 times. When I do finish it’s because I’m on top and having to chase it HARD. Like my core hurts from the way I’m having to crunch to get it. I’ve tried to relax , I’ve tried to put in a ton of effort and at this point I’m just frustrated. We’re basically only doing it for him , I mean it’s enjoyable during the time it takes for him to get there but I just have no energy to do it. Im having some major thyroid issues and I just have no desire. When I do get my hopes up that I could finish I have to try so hard and then it’s not even fun anymore. Is there something I can do?? Anyone with thyroid issues, when it’s removed does that help??

You have two types of organs “down there”, one group for making a baby, and one group for pleasure and orgasms.
Your vagina is primarily your birth canal, a safe place for your partner to deposit his sperm to make you pregnant, and an outlet for discharge and menstrual flow. It does not have a lot of nerve endings, so it is mostly numb with the exception of the entrance of your vagina.
Your clitoris on the other hand has only one function - sexual pleasure leading to orgasm. You very likely knowing this from your masturbation experience. It has over 10,000 nerve endings to make it the most sensitive organ in the human body, and it goes deep inside your body (about 15 cm) with two wishbone structures (the legs and the bulbs).inside your body. Today the medical consensus is that these internal structures of the clitoris is what was previously believed to be that mythical G-spot that can be stimulated from inside your vagina..
During intercourse, most women do not get enough stimulation to their clitoris to orgasm. This is because for most of us, our clitoris is too far away from the vaginal entrance. According to researchers, there are about 20 to 30% of women which have their clitoris close enough to the vaginal entrance to orgasm from intercourse alone (the magical number is within 25 mm or 1 inch between the clitoris and vaginal entrance).
For the rest of us it takes a little work to orgasm with our partners. So how do we do it then? You have to bring extra stimulation to your clitoris during intercourse.  There are a few ways you can do this: 
You can do this by tilting your pelvis so that your clitoris makes contact with his body when he is inside you, and then rub, grind, and squeeze your clitoris against him in small motions. There is nothing that says sex needs to be this in/out/up/down motion. You can also incorporate it with every in stroke by giving a small grind/sweep of your clitoris on him when he reaches the bottom of the in stroke. This may be easier for you when you are on top controlling the motion. It may seem a bit unnatural at first, but it will become natural with a bit of practice.
Another way of doing this is by stimulating your clitoris with your fingers, or a small vibrator during sex. You can even show him how to do it with his fingers. This is pretty easy with you on top, or him behind you.
Lastly there is a sex position called coital alignment technique (C.A.T.) which is meant to achieve this. It is too complex for me to explain here, but you can google it. It takes some practice and discipline, and is best suited for long term relationships 
Of course all of this is predicated on having a partner that lasts long enough for you to orgasm, being willing and open to try new things and experiment, trying different positions, getting properly turned on with foreplay, and staying well lubricated. You also have to get out of your own head and be fully present for sex, no worrying about how you look, how you smell, what he thinks, what happened today, what you need to do tomorrow, only thinking about your partner and your pleasure.
