I think my husband and his family are weird for this, they say I'm being a germophobe? Who is right?
My husband's family all sit on pillows from a bed whenever they sit on the couch. I think it's weird and when they come to visit, I have specific pillows for them to use because sorry... I'm not putting my head and face where someone's ass has been.
My husband takes it one step further: if we're in bed (we sleep naked) he'll grab my pillows because I like squashy pillows and shove them under his butt if he sits up in bed when we watch TV.
This has ALWAYS bothered me because I do not want to sleep on something that has been against someone's ass! I'm always changing my damn pillow cases and he thinks it's hilarious. If I do the same to him, he doesn't care and says "it's normal!"
This came up at Thanksgiving dinner and everyone agrees that I'm being a germophobe. I just... Don't feel like I'm the one in the wrong here. This is disgusting, right?
Edit: thank God you're all agreeing this is gross. Honestly I never really thought anything of it because we met 6 months before COVID and got married last year. We just have "sitting pillows" in our house. This is the only weird thing he does, I swear. They all always complained that couch cushions just don't form right to their bodies. For my husband, he just doesn't understand why its gross to have his ass on my pillow/where I have my head in bed. Maybe I'll have to google it and show him or fake pink eye at some point. It's just gross.
