HPV, LEEP and pregnancy
So last November I had a LEEP procedure done to remove pre cancerous cells that was found during my colposcopy. After the procedure was done I got my results that all was good come back in a year for a pap. I went recently to get the pap done and my adults came back abnormal and it said that they couldn’t rule out abnormal cells and that I have BV so they want to do another colposcopy.
Here’s the thing my husband and I have been trying for another baby for 2 yrs now no luck.
When I asked the dr if this was completely necessary her response was well I see that you have been trying to conceive so it will be harder to do so if you need another LEEP procedure and then proceeds to say but if you do not want to conceive you can get a hysterectomy. Did not address the results of the BV at any point either. I felt like this was a dramatic thing to offer. And the fact that the results said they can’t confirm nor rule out abnormal cells like wouldn’t you address the BV and then do another pap before trying to take a biopsy?
Am I being overly dramatic by thinking this was the dr being overly dramatic (I should also mention that during the pap she hated life). Should I proceed with the colposcopy? Is there anyone who has been in a similar situation and got pregnant no issues? Just looking for some advice any is welcome.
