Only 4 weeks but did I workout too hard?!?

Yesterday after working out I started having soreness in my lower abdomen/ near pelvic bone and it lasted for the entire day. It started maybe an hour or two after my workout and lasted until I went to sleep.

I used a heating pad to help with pain but I’m scared that I overexerted myself and that it could have harmed my pregnancy.

I usually run 3-4 miles every Saturday along with some weight machines but bc I was trying to avoid running on the treadmill, I did the elliptical and some other muscle exercises instead to avoid high impact but I think what I did was too much strain on my pelvic area. It feels better now although my body is super sore. Still worried that I harmed or interested with my body. It’s such a fragile time :(((

Any insights or thoughts would help. Going to my fertility clinic tomorrow for bloodwork to confirm pregnancy since I just found out two days ago! Ugh I feel like an idiot for working out during this time.

It’s totally okay to work out but yes you can’t do the same as before now that you’re pregnant. Try to take it slow and don’t add too much weight as that can be harmful for baby and you because your joints become looser when pregnant. I wouldn’t worry you probably got yourself sore from the workout being that you just found out you’re pregnant. Just be more careful because the further along you are it can bring more serious consequences.

Girl I’m glad the nurse said heating pad is a no no! Basically turn em into hot soup!

lol your baby is okay since you didn’t use it a lot. But it does make it warm in there for them and while pregnant you should never reach above 100° body wise you could overheat yourself and get dizzy or even dehydrate yourself. Try you best to stay cool and comfy or warm and cozy.

Is this your first pregnancy? That type of pain your feeling might just be from being pregnant for the the first time. Also as long as these are you typical work outs you should be absolutely fine.

Yes first pregnancy! My nurse relieved my concerns today and said I probably overdid it but I’ll be ok and the soreness is probably my body trying to deal my uterus expanding plus the aftermath of working out my muscles and it’s overload. So I feel better about that. Although when I told her I used the heating pad to help with pain she said not to use that anymore.

Yes I actually read today about my joints loosening and I think I strained or pulled a muscle in my pelvic area bc halfway thru my trip to the grocery store I was in a lot of pain bc it hurt to walk. I’m fine when I’m sitting/laying down though. Ugh.
