Negative test after symptoms

Hello I’m currently 8dpo, been trying for 13 months, got pregnant in may and it turned into a chemical pregnancy unfortunately, haven’t fell pregnant since. Is it normal for my test to be negative? Or should I have had a faint positive by now? Felt like this month was my month been feeling sick last few days.
