Losing fat while pregnant

Is there a safe way to lose fat while having a growing baby/healthy pregnancy?

I was just starting to lose weight by consistently working out and counting calories/limiting calories when I got pregnant 4 weeks later!

I am IN NO WAY wanting to restrict in a way that harms baby. I’m just wondering if anyone has ever continued a workout program and healthy eating while working out and lost FAT/gained strength and muscle tone while growing a healthy baby.

I recommend yoga and avoiding junk foods and drinking more water and less drinks with sugar or high in unnecessary calories that have no nutritional value. If you don’t like plain water I recommend flavored vitamin water. I’m not saying cut out junk food I’m saying avoid it. If your craving pizza for dinner or a slice of pie/cake for desert go for it but I don’t think every meal/snack should be just junk food Try having cereal and a fruit bowl for breakfast with granola, yogurt and possibly maple syrup if your feeling adventurous and some toast with peanut butter if your not allergic otherwise jelly/jam is good too Drink options I recommend: milk, warm tea, vitamin water, any kind of fruit juice, or just water (not my preference either)DONT FORGET TO TAKE YOUR PRENATAL VITAMINS A good snack for here I think would be a pregnancy craving Then lunch could be any kind of soup in my opinion with a side of veggies or veggies mixed in if your not picky like me and another side of something with wheat or dairy Drink recommendations: any kind of fruit juice, (I personally prefer Cran Raspberry juice to prevent UTIs etc because I get them a lot) or milk, vitamin water, warm tea, and again water A good snack for here I also think should be a pregnancy craving Dinner could be a well done steak or some kind of protein as the main course, pizza with pepperoni or ham etc works too but if your having pizza I recommend you add quite a few toppings to keep up that nutritional value You probably already know what my drink recommendations are 🤷‍♀️Then desert Then the bedtime snack if your a wake up in the middle of the night hungry type of gal

Plus I feel like people just don’t understand their own limits and how amazing the uterus is! When I was 14 I would be dragging giant logs to the fire pit and just be as happy as could be but once you get tired it’s time to stop sit down take a break and just relax for the rest of the day because if you over do it that’s what makes issues! I also slipped and fell on ice because I was late for the school bus while pregnant and yes I was in a lot of pain and ended up going to the ER but they said the baby was just fine and I’m just sore because my body took the brunt of the fall and my uterus protected my daughter. My daughter was born 12/30/2018 6lbs 2oz and very long/aka tall like her father and I personally was surprised because she was born a whole pound heavier than I was when I was born.

I started fasting. My dr and midwives said it was just fine and my baby stayed a healthy weight the entire time and was born completely healthy.I would just fast through the night. Starting around 5 or 6 pm and ending around 9 or 10 am.You sleepDuring your hunger spells and don’t notice. It was super easy. And I only gained 3 lbs my entire pregnancy and ended up weighing less when I was done than I did when I started. I lost weight and gained baby. Lol

I have hg and I have lost anywhere from 10-60 lbs in each pregnancy (on my fifth right now), I have never gained in any pregnancy 🤷🏻‍♀️

I somehow managed to lose weight while pregnant this round, I was overweight starting the pregnancy so I was concerned about gaining too much. I just kept active and ate healthy. Plus I have a toddler so I was exerting a lot of energy throughout the day. But my nausea the first trimester made it impossible to eat solids, I had to stick to liquids mostly.

I don’t know if you can lose fat but you can try and stay as active as you can. You can continue moving as you did prior to becoming pregnant but if that’s too much, like walking and things can help maintain healthiness at bare minimum!

I lost sixteen pounds right before I found out I was pregnant. I was doing a nutrition program to help with my fertility and lower my blood sugar. I lost about four more pounds during the first trimester. I’m at the end of the second and have only gained a little bit, but my doctors are happy because I am eating. Your BMI determines how much you are expected to gain during a healthy pregnancy. It’s good if you gain. You need to consume a certain amount of calories for your baby’s brain development.

Very true but it’s not exactly about just the calories its more about the notional values of what your putting into your body. ❤️❤️

I am doing the same, fasting overnight and tracking calories/macros as I started doing about 3 months before I got pregnant. I have celiac so it’s easier for me to be higher fat/protein to carbs ratio which is ideal for most people anyway. I continue to strength training 4-5 days/week and do yoga as well. I feel great!!!

Eat healthy, be active. Go for walks. I wasn’t trying to but I actually lost 40 pounds total throughout my second pregnancy. I had HG and couldn’t keep food down, food didn’t even sound appetizing to me. I’d get sick just thinking about eating or looking at pictures of food. I was also on my feet a lot for my final semester practicum and classes.
