Gestational diabetes and possible high blood pressure

Hello all! My drs got me on checking my blood daily because I’m on bed rest and she didn’t want me to wait at the lab after taking the glucose test so I’m testing my blood Four times a day. Anyways, then I had one high reading after all of my appts. before this last one were normal (116/64) and this last one was a tad high (130/84). Dr says if baby is too big she’d have to break her shoulder to pull her out and prevent brain damage or death. Any thoughts? How common is this? Is it possible that I may harm my child?
