Lost half of my vison. Does anyone know why?

This morning I woke up and my vision was completely blurry so suddenly. I couldn’t see anything only shapes of objects. I didn’t freak out and just accepted it really. I waited about 5-10 minutes and my husband suggested me to rinse my eyes and I did but still couldn’t see. My eyes normally are not bad just hard time reading things at a decent distance and so I never actually need my glasses unless it’s behind the wheel. He then suggested I put on my glasses and I did but it felt like I was wearing someone else’s prescription even though I know I usually see perfectly out of them. It took 2 hours for me gradually to see again.

What could have cause this? Is it normal?

Edit: went to an optometrist. Mine wasn’t open but the other gladly checked me. My eyes itself is fine but they gave me a paper and referral. I went straight to the hospital from them and had tests run on me and I’m sat here waiting for results. Depending on results I may have my head scanned.
