Pap smear day after period

I just finished my period yesterday and had my annual physical and Pap smear today. I completely forgot to let the doctor know and after she did it, she said there was a little blood. Will that affect my results at all?

It can affect your results. It’s best to wait a week after your period before getting a Pap smear. If it comes back AGC it could just be from your period. But AGC is pretty rare I actually just got that result myself.

No it’s fine! Bleeding is common after. I think it’s expected. I’m pregnant and got one and was bleeding slightly after, so mine was def not period related lol. It won’t affect results:)
