I was so eager to get it over with because the fasting was difficult for me ugh. I got my fasting lab drawn, drank the drink, and started feeling HORRIBLE. It was a really strange and hard to fully-describe feeling. I was of course nauseous, was dizzy, had a headache, and felt this strange almost.. anxious feeling? I wasn’t anxious about anything in particular, it was just as if my body was sort of freaking out. Anxiety isn’t something I struggle heavily with and I wasn’t super nervous about the test or anything so it was weird. A bit after I got my blood drawn at the 1 hour mark, the nausea instantly hit hard and I had to run to the bathroom. I threw up the whole thing. I told the lady who had been drawing my blood and she said I should go home and that I’d have to redo it another day. Some hours later after getting home, I got a call from a nurse saying that they might be able to make it work with the two blood draws they had gotten from me, doesn’t that defeat the purpose though? Never been through this all before so I’m just wondering if any of you have any insight on this sort of thing. My fasting lab was updated on my chart online and it says that my level was right in the middle of the range it needed to be in, so maybe I’m good..?
