Metronidazole vaginal gel!!! Question

So I have bv and my doctor is giving me the gel to insert to treat it the first day was ok , I’m on the 4th day of using it and everyday it has been burning like hell after inserting it for at least 5 or 10 minutes after I inserted it but it goes away. Is that normal? Is it still working?

Yes totally normal. The PILLS are awful and can cause a very bad upset stomach. The gel can also cause some very thick chunky discharge but it’s normal! And will go away after you’re done with treatment! (I had chronic BV for almost a year) 6 months strait with the gel AND pills combined finally got rid of it 🫠

Yes for some people it can cause irritation. Thats why you can always ask to be treated with pills instead of the gel
