Does it hurt after getting braces ?

I’m supposed to be getting my braces tomorrow and I know people that say they couldn’t eat normal for a whiles and that it hurt afterwards… 
I just want to know previous experiences and how it worked out for you￼

Yep they hurt for a bit not too long after I got them on. The pain will go away eventually. Eat soft foods after you get them on. Once the pain goes away you can try to eat more chewy foods

They do hurt because it's pulling on your teeth. I had them years ago. Everytime they put new rubber bands on it would hurt. Once, the teeth move closer together the metal would cut the inside of my mouth in the back. Braces are great and Def do their job but I have scars in my mouth from them. No gain no gain.

In my experience, they hurt, but not as bad as I was expecting. I had some people telling me that they were in so much pain they couldn’t even eat a soft pretzel (like a really soft one) so I was expecting the worst, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought. Usually they would hurt the first 24 hours or so after getting them tightened every time and then got better.

Yep. I could only eat baby food and protein supplement shakes for awhile because I couldn’t chew

Yes they hurt, like the other commenter said they cut your mouth and your teeth will be sore after any adjustment, but they work.
