Is this an appropriate gesture for my neighbor?

My neighbor down the road lost her husband yesterday. He was sick and on hospice so it was expected. Obviously that doesn’t make it any less hard. She is older and more friends with my mom that lives on the same street, though I’m friendly with her as well when I walk by or if she’s at my moms having tea. My mom is bringing her home cooked food and a flower and keeps in touch with her over text and such. I wanted to get something as well so I decided on a gift card to a local restaurant that offers take out (I don’t really cook) with a sympathy card and a small strawberry cheesecake. Also plan to check up on her every now again of course. Does this sound ok?
