I think a lot guys are like that now a days.. we live in a time where hookup culture is super prevalent, however there are things you can do to avoid that. Don’t have sex right away. Don’t talk sexual right away. Take time to get to know them & if they don’t want to get to know you, then that gives you your answer. It’s difficult dating out there, and you’re going to probably scare off a lot of guys (but that’s the point). This is the only way to weed out the ones who really just want sex & nothing more.

Because you probably give it up quickly, instead of getting to know him and making him wait and work for it by taking you out on dates and appreciating you. You hold the power. Stop giving it to them. You have what they want. You allow them to dictate the relationship. Tell them up front: I don’t do hook ups I don’t do friends with benefits I’m a relationship person and if you aren’t down with that then I don’t waste my time. The dating world now days is horrible... i was with my ex for 10 years (since i was 17) and left him when i was 26.. and getting out into the dating life I definitely had people lead me to believe they wanted something more than sex. But unfortunately that is all they wanted. Key thing to look for is when you are talking to someone especially in the early stages make sure they are asking questions and wanting to get to know you. Usually if its all about sex or them asking sex questions then red flag.  Ask them questions as well like when was their last serious relationship and why didnt it work out. (Do pros and cons in your head of this guy) I know sex plays a big importance in a relationship but doesnt mean to open yourself up to someone if it doesnt feel right at first. It took me a year to find my current bf and honestly the first date was perfect to me.. we talked about our families, what we both are into, you name it and it felt right. I took a chance and got intimate that night, i thought to myself after this he probably wont talk to me since i was so use to that happening, but a year later we are still together. Definitely messed with my insecurities back then but not all men are pigs, just have to be more cautious with them and be clear on what you want in the beginning. Set boundaries and wait a while if you feel they arent proving enough they are interested in you. The right man will wait and understand you. Also, my advice is love yourself first before you date. You have to value who you are and know what you deserve from someone. I worked on me for a long time and it felt good.
