When should i start applying for jobs?

I’m looking to move out of state at the end of September & i’m not sure when i should start applying for jobs. I currently work in law enforcement & would love to stay with the same career. For my current position it took 2 months from the initial interview for me to start my job due to them doing an investigation & polygraph test so i’m anticipating it would take around the same time frame for a new job. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'd start in the summer and just ne open to when you could start work. Some places will move faster than others. My brother is in law enforcement and he changed jobs last year and from application in to signing papers was like 3 weeks because they were so understaffed. Some places take longer so just be honest about relocation time and hopefully someone will just work with it.
