Has anyone ever had femoral nerve entrapment? (Compressed nerve in the front of hip/thigh)?
I have been experiencing for the last 3 months or so, surface numbness, tingling, and burning in my top/side thigh. Midwives thought it had to do with extra pressure of baby/weight gain and to check with primary care. Primary care suspected some sort of nerve compression/hip bursitis. I went to a chiropractor because I was feeling defeated and she diagnosed it as femoral nerve entrapment and pointed out how tight the ligaments going from under my belly to the thigh were. She helped do some soft tissue work and adjustments of hips and pelvis areas. After doing some research it does seem like what I’m experiencing is femoral nerve pain. From what I read it seems like it will go away after birth but I’m only 23 weeks so I’m hoping to find some strategies for relief in the mean time. Has anyone experienced this? Any luck with physical therapy? Would the use of a belly band help take pressure off?
Thanks for any thoughts.
