Skin Irritation Before Period

This has been happening to me for years! My skin gets really irritated and inflamed just around my vaginal opening in the few days up to a week before my period. I’ve gone to the doctor twice thinking it was either a yeast infection or bv, and it’s never been either of those. She says I just have sensitive skin.

I don’t use washes or products, I wear cotton underwear, and if I have to wear a liner for spotting on the day before, it’s unscented and I change them often.

Anyone else have this issue or have solutions? She recommended using like an ointment because moisture can cause what’s effectively chapping, but that seems uncomfortable and problem causing.
