I want a hysterectomy!!

So long story short my husband and I already have two kids and I got a tubal after that. We were both firm on that. Now that my child bearing days are over I would like to have a hysterectomy so I won’t have to worry about a period anymore. My obgyn says no and wants to put me on birth control instead. What should I do?
