Doctor says it’s fine if bets hcg number’s don’t double??

Question

My doctor says as long as my numbers are within range it’s fine….but it took 168 hours for my hcg to double from 500 to 1000. Anyone ever heard of this or had this happen and have a healthy pregnancy?

I dont think that sounds right. I was told during my pregnancy that the number needed to double within 48 to 72 hours.

I have never heard a doctor say this, exactly opposite of what I’ve heard. In my personal experience if numbers don’t double (even within range) it has been miscarriages. I’m so sorry I think you should prepare for a miscarriage:( that sucks he’s giving you false hope

What’s crazy I’m going through the same but my dr said the hcg number has to be read at the same lab every time as those numbers can vary! I  have a bleeding cyst on my right ovary we found thurs I was at 62k hcg then Monday I went for my dr appt and had it ran again which was 83k. Yesterday I was told to go to get a stat ultrasound and bloodwork done she called and said it’s lowering out and we are at 71k. When we did the ultrasound tho my baby is growing at the right age as my due date so I’m 8 weeks today and on weekly ultrasounds to continue to date the baby as indeed the hcg is only accurate for pregnancy confirmation but after that it’s not! Stay positive as this is my rainbow baby myself. Had a miscarriage back in August.
