4 months postpartum spotting

I am 4 months pp and I got my period at 6 weeks pp. my periods were realllllly heavy and long the first two periods. The third period was more normal but I had spotting in between. I had a week off of spotting and now I haven’t stopped bleeding for two weeks. I’m due for my period in 2 days. Is that typical to be bleeding for weeks in between periods pp? I’m so annoyed. It’s not a lot but it’s enough to need a pad a day. I’m seeing my doctor in 10 days because I thought birth control would help regulate my periods so I made a consult. I’m just so annoyed!! I wanted to give my body time to adjust but the spotting is getting more frequent not less. Thank you!

I also should add I had an ultrasound about a month ago during my super heavy period and everything was normal.
