Is it disrespectful to change the name your parents gave you?
I mean this with love. My parents are idiots and are probably the reason I have such a hard time finding a job. They wanted to be "creative" when naming me and how my name is pronounced is "NAY-ZEE" How they spelt it is "N-A-Z-I". I have hated my name since I found out what it meant and having my name in a world history class is awful. I hate my name and I have such a hard time finding a job. I'm finally just ready to legally change it but my parents are so upset with me and told me it's disrespectful to change the name my parents picked out. I told them it was disrespectful to spell my name in a way that would make my life harder. I may not even completely change my name. Just the spelling but honestly I hate this name so much and I kind of don't want any ties to it anymore. I know people say parents can name their child whatever they want but I do think they need to be mindful of that childs future. And if you name them something ridiculous you can't be mad when they change it.
