Is there a way to block people from buying dogs in Ontario (Canada)?
My in-laws have been cycling through dogs like crazy. They love puppies and in the past five years, they've had three dogs. They have had over 12 dogs in 30 years though. They've always been horrible pet owners but took a break from dogs while my husband's gran lived with them.
Usually the dog isn't a good fit for them by the time it turns about 1.5-2. Either it's gotten too big or is too hyperactive, or my in-laws have some "medical crisis" themselves that warrants rehoming their pet. Then 6 months later they have a new puppy again.
We are not particularly close to them. Does anyone know of a way to block people like this from owning dogs? It's not that they're abusive physically
, but they are neglectful. They don't walk the dogs and are constantly rehoming and buying a new dog. It's not right!
We live in the Keswick/Innisfil/Georgina area of Ontario, Canada.
