Pregnancy

Okay I am 2 days late for my period and I have been feeling a little moody and crampy that past 2 days but I took a test and it said negative. Could I still be pregnant if it says negative? I feel so dumb for asking this. I am 9 months postpartum and am just nervous to get pregnant right now. I know tests are so accurate before. But has this happened to someone and they ended up being pregnant?
