Bf birthday day after Father’s Day . Help

So we have been arguing and having problems the past few weeeks and I want to do something special for him on his birthday. Father’s Day I would love to do something for him but it’s his day and whatever he wants to do we will do. But his birthday is the day after Father’s Day and I just want some ideas like what to do with him? I was thinking taking him to the beach for a picnic and taking some snacks and painting. He very not into surprises from he has told me but I want to do something special for him. Any other ideas?
