Tubal ligation post-birth

I hope this is the right place to ask. Anyone who has had their tubal done in the hospital directly after birth, how was it? Mainly how was the pain? I’ve had laparoscopic surgery once before and I can’t imagine caring for a newborn immediately after. Also, how did it affect breastfeeding in the hospital? Did you have to wait x amount of hours after having anesthetic to nurse? I’ll ask all of this to the dr as well, just wanting some first hand experience from women who have actually experienced it.
