PCOS ~ advice, tips plz

Laura • Quiet but chatty once you get to know me!

So it’s come to my awareness for a few days that I have many of the symptoms of PCOS. And one of the many I am showing for too long is overheating and it’s so bad to the point that I not only have to wear a headband to work to keep the sweat from touching my hair, and also in a ponytail every day, but also I’ve noticed that my hair doesn’t feel good. With the overheating, I also find myself wearing tank tops around the house and even after getting out of the shower: I don’t feel cold, I feel the same. I don’t wear winter coats in the winter, mainly just fall/spring jackets. In the summer: like it will be shortly, will be the death of me: the overheating mixed with the heat from the summer season…

Tonight I just straightened my hair before bed (after I had a shower earlier) and after my hair was straightened, I felt it and it feels like crap as it I didn’t wash/rinse all the shampoo/conditioner out but I mostly do except a couple times maybe. The reason why I keep my hair up in a ponytail is because it looks terrible (and feels terrible) if I keep it down, it looks so bad; it’s affected my self confidence and my body image. I used to love wearing my hair down but now I can’t even pull that look off anymore.

Is seeking medical help from a professional be helpful for this issue with my hair? I have brought up about the overheating to both my family doctor, nurse practitioner and gynaecologist.
