Am too young for a hysterectomy ?

I am 24 years old and since around 16 years old I’ve been dealing with extreme menstrual pain I’ve been vocal about it with doctors to the point where I’ve tried birth control twice (pill & implant) gotten 4 transvaginal ultrasounds lots of bloodwork tried different medications muscle relaxers, aleve, midol , & mefenamic acid nothings working . I will call out of work for 2-3 because I literally can not move i am to the point where I’m literally screaming out in pain . I don’t know what solutions I can try I feel hopeless I really want a hysterectomy is it possible my doctor will approve one ? Can someone maybe type a message I can send to ask for one or offer any advice please . I’ve already had 2 of my older sister experience very similar things and it resulted in both of them having a hysterectomy at 32 & 29 I’m fully aware of what I’m asking .

Most doctors won’t be their first thought unless it’s cancer or something like that. They will try and rule out other things like endometriosis etc. that is  the last thought they usually have. When they can’t figure out other options. Try different doctors. 2nd, 3rd or 4th opinion until you find a better resolution or get what you are asking for. Good luck.

Its not super likely youll find someone super willing to give you a hysterectomy especially like immediately. It can be a long process. You may have to try quite a few doctors to get to one willing.

if you’re from the US there’s a google doc list of all the doctors in each state that will perform sterilization when you’re not in your 30s or have kids already. Just look up “Here is a list of 1,000 Gynecologists who will perform a tubal sterilization without fighting you” and the reddit post with the list will come up. I’d try to make an appointment with one of those doctors that are in your area. They’re sometimes apprehensive about doing hysterectomy’s before menopause because it could put you into menopause so you’d probably need to take estrogen if you don’t keep your ovaries
