dark opk 3 days after coming off of bc pills

Camryn

So this is going to be a long story but please stick around because I need answers lol

I’ve been on birth control for a little under 3 years. I feel like it has tremendously impacted my mental health and I have extreme anxiety on a daily basis so my boyfriend and I decided that coming off of it would probably help get my mind and body back on track. So when I finished my last pack 3 days ago, I didn’t start a new one.

In the beginning of may I got a medical abortion. I was on a different brand of birth control pills when i had gotten pregnant the month before, so it was a complete accident but I did decide to go through with the abortion because I knew it was the best choice for my boyfriend and I. And the day after my abortion, I started a new birth control brand. Ever since my abortion i have been spotting, so for about 2 months now. It’s been hard for me to really put a timeline on my period, even with being on the pills.

So coming off of my birth control pills 3 days ago, I’m still spotting as I have been for a couple of months now. Before I finished my last birth control pack, I decided that I was just going to track my ovulation and temperatures so I know when my boyfriend needs to pull out/wear a condom. I’ve tracked my ovulation and temperatures before so i’m not unaware of how my body works or when I ovulate, or anything like that. today I decided to take an ovulation test, just to see where I’m at and to take a good precaution just in case, and the test did come back kind of dark to my surprise.

Is it possible that when I stopped my birth control pills, my body could just immediately want to ovulate due to the hormone change? Or can something just be out of wack due to recently coming off of my pills? The spotting that I’ve been having for the past 2 months also concerns me when it comes to my ovulation as well.. I can tell it’s not exactly positive, but it seems like my body might be preparing for ovulation. So I’m not sure if anyone has gone through a situation similar to this, but if anyone has some good advice please tune me in!
