3cm 70%effected, membrane sweep?

I went to my 39 week appointment last Wednesday and I was 3cm and 70% effected. She asked me if I wanted a membrane sweep but have seen so many horror stories about the pain. This is my second and coming up on 40 weeks and just want this baby out already. Should I get one done on Wednesday? How was the pain for you?

Basically it’s equally painful as bad period cramps, so there’s a bit of a reference anyway

i had my membrane sweep at 36&6 days because i was being induced the next morning because of my high blood pressure and it was worth it because it helped me dilate faster throughout the night BUT the pain i was in i started having contractions an hour after i left the dr from having it done. I say it’s worth it but i hear a lot of folks it doesn’t really do anything. So it’s really all up to you but that is my experience from having it with my first child. I’m pregnant with my second and i more than likely will get it done again since it helped me with my first.
