Milk supply decrease?

Genesis

Hello mamas, i need tips on increasing my milk supply or just advice on it. I've breasfed my 5mo since she was born and recently started pumping to help her actually eat since she gets distracted when breastfeeding. I pump in the mornings and usually make about 5-6oz (from both not each). But every pump after that i only pump 2-4oz from both from a 15 min pump. Then when its her next feed nothing really comes out when she latches so she cries and fusses. I eat a lot of calories already but i don't understand why I'm not making enough milk. She started solids at 4m (per pediatrician) but has lost interest recently and only wants milk. Which i know is okay but now i feel I'm not producing enough milk for her.

It is normal for them to be distracted at this age. I would stop pumping and nurse on demand (quiet room, favorite position, ours was laydown). Baby removes milk more effectively than a pump.

Try solids again at 6mo

It’s way too early for solids. Pediatricians are not educated on the topic & new recommendations. You should just keep breastfeeding on demand. Take her to a quiet, dimly lit room to nurse

You would think, but unfortunately not

Are you latching baby or are pumping only? Kinda confused. Beforehand you had a big over supply. And no baby shouldn’t be on solids at 4m old, that is outdated information.

Anything you pump after nursing baby is over supply. You had major over supply. You shouldn’t have been pumping at all while nursing only when you are away from baby. There’s no reason to be pumping at all. Unless you are at work or away from baby elsewhere.

Can you contact a lactation specialist? They have great advice and resources to help with this. If you have a local WIC office they usually provide you with information that is free too.
