Online dating, How fast do you meet face-to-face?

Hi ladies,

I'm completely new to online dating and I'd like to go how other women go about it?

Would it be stringing along if I need more time to be secure?

How long does it take for you to meet face to face and why?

I personally wasnt ok with talking for more than a couple of weeks only because sometimes you meet up and the chemistry just isnt there,so I wasnt ok investing a lot of time and getting my hopes up just to discover it's a flop. I dont think it's necessarily stringing someone along, but Im not sure what the point is of waiting a long time for a casual meeting. Of course meet in a public place eg Starbucks. Is there a reason you dont feel secure? Is it a safety thing? Social anxiety?

I was in a relationship that was online.. we dated for three months then he surprised me out of nowhere. He did that again a year later but that’s just my personal experience

I would say within the month/two weeks or so. My situation with my husband was kind of different because i knew and met him through a friend but we didn’t talk until we matched online. But i knew who we was for about a year or two before we started dating so meeting up in person wasn’t that I didn’t feel comfortable because he wasn’t a total stranger - just really fell back on our availability.

My experience with my current wasn't exactly online dating, but in a sense it was. An old friend of mine sort of introduced us. The friend had moved off to another state, hadn't seen him in years and seldom talked. Well, he moved within an hour and a half back my way, and had me add a friend of his, to play a mobile game we were playing together. The friend of his and I talked for almost a month, and met shortly after, at my friend's house. 7 months into a relationship with him now. But I feel like you can really like someone, talking online, but then meet up with them in person and the vibe be totally different and you're just not at all interested anymore. I had that happen with the guy before my current boyfriend.
