Would you respond to your ex-husband’s mother who has never met their grandchild?
Long story short- back in 2020, I was in a happy marriage for 4 years. We were trying for a baby, with 2 miscarriages.
My ex-husband’s family tormented me from the start. Calling me names etc because I wasn’t a bride of their race. I did everything I could for them to like me. Take his mom out, his sis for her nails, but yet it never worked. His sister would threaten me and his mom just didnt like me.
We moved to a new state and my parents helped us out as we struggled financially. I always paid my portion of our bills but he never did. We worked through our issued with grace and love and i always ALWAYS encouraged him to stay connected with his family but he ignored me, causing his mom to somehow blame me for this..???
Anyways. We still had a wonderful relationship and i got pregnant in 2020! He acted ecstatic, over joyed, etc.
But then suddenly one day as I was 4 months pregnant, he told me he didnt love me anymore..?? It was VERY sudden like nothing led up to it..
I also discovered he was deleting msgs with a coworker though he said they were just friends. I dont know. He then got upset and fled to another state, leaving me 4 months pregnant. I was distraught to say the least and msged his mom to ask what was happening as all he told me was he is going home. She just accused me of kicking him out which NEVER happened and didnt say anything else.
She congratulated when he was born once and sent a gift. That was it. That was 4 yrs ago.
To this day, he has never met his son and never asked to. His family has never said anything either except today his mom msged me to wish him a happy 4th bday and said “even tho you guys are divorced, thats still my grandchild and I hope you will let me see him one day”.
Is it wrong of me to be.. APPAULED??! You should have helped me when I was lost and confused and your son ran back to you. You should have came to see your grandchild!
But then again, I do see effort on her part. Im not sure what to think. His family is bonkers . I see a lil bit of effort from his mom but nothing from himself except him asking to see pics of his son once which the law said no to because he was not cooperating.
Am I being unreasonable here?
