Opinions on circumcision?

currently 22w1d with my #3 baby & having a boy after two girls! I have done my research, pros & cons about having your baby circumcised but still unsure! Boy moms who decided to do it vs not to, what was your reason? Experience? do you regret your decision?

Its not a thing here, unless last option medically. Super strange american thing to do to a newborn.

Never did. Never would. Absolutely no reason to. No, i dont regret not putting my newborn baby boy in pain for nothing. I have spoken to multiple urologists, pediatric and adult urologists who also say that it is absolutely unnecessary and only done cosmetically.

I let my husband make the decision for all 3 of our boys. We circumcised them all. Baby goes out the room for about 20 minutes, comes back and is obviously fussy. He gets back to himself a few minutes later and we spend 10 days putting Vaseline on the tip until it’s healed. No issues, no regrets.

We opted not to, there's no real benefit to doing it. Even from a religion standpoint, there's no benefit, it's just normal for some. As long as he is taught how to clean it properly when he's older it's not necessary. And if youre concerned about teasing or whatever when he's older my husband never was teased...

We didn't. Have zero regrets. My husband is circumsized but still didnt want to and we both agreed unless there was a need, such as a physical issue and told by our doctor we needed to, we had no interest in doing it. Turned out to.be a huge benefit anyways as our son is immnuno compromised we found out and he would have been at a way higher risk of infection healing from a circumcision. As his issues is with the shaoe of his kidneys we have been in pediatric urology specialists appts and hours and hours with them and.we.have asked many times just to see if it would have been better and every one said no and went into great detail why there is no.medical benefit to it. Glad we didnt do it and zero regrets at all.

My husband is circumcised and so are both my boys. It’s not recommended anymore due to the controversy of it. But even in CA when you tell a doctor that you are getting them circumcised there is a huge sigh of relief from pediatricians. But ultimately it’s what you and your husband want. My nephews were both uncircumcised until six months and they both kept getting nasty UTIs and so the doctor had to put them under general anesthesia to do it because they were so old. That story enough would’ve made me circumcise even if my boys weren’t before.

U do what feels right for u.. i did and my son has had no issues.. it's more hygienic.. less risk of cancer and sexually transmitted diseases.. my friend is a doctor and he has more issues with non circumcision men.

I have 2 boys and both are intact and perfect healthy boys. We are hardcore against circumcising, vit k and vaccines. We came to the conclusion years ago but after listening to candaces ownes series "A Shot In The Dark" and her episode on vit k and circumcision, it just confirmed everything we already believed was best for our family. I highly recommend listening, she sites many resources to research if you'd like to do further studies on your own. The original reason I decided not to was literally just gave me a bad feeling and i coulsnt stand the thought of them cutting my perfectly healthy baby boy. It helps that my husband (TMI) is also intact and has no issues. You just teach them how to keep it clean. My baby boys needed less penis maintenence than my friends baby who was circumcised.

Both my boys are circumsized. My husband is so i was already leaning towards having them done but wasn't 100% decided until i had them. I talked with the doctor that would be doing it and she was very kind and informative about it. She didn't push for me to decide right away and she was supportive of either choice. She went over the pros and cons and gave me a full day to think about it before stopping in to see me again. It's more of a cosmetic thing to do so totally up to you.
