So I work close to 50 hours a week. My husband works maybe 20 hours a week but he makes more money than I do so I guess it evens out. I do most of the cleaning and the cooking. Since we both work we agreed to split chores, so I do laundry, he does dishes (we don’t have a dishwasher). Everything else that needs to be done is kinda just whoever gets to it first or has the time. I do mostly everything but I leave the dishes to him. Ever since we established this, he just doesn’t do the dishes. Or he does but he cleans like 4 things, says he will do the rest tomorrow, and never does it. Eventually the sink gets gross and disgusting so I break and clean it over the weekend when I have time. Well at some point I got so tired of this that I thought well I’m just not gonna do it, when the sink gets gross and disgusting he can clean that too. Well then he finally sees it’s gross and the knives at the bottom of the pile are starting to rust so he starts the dishes, and the. Freaks out because now he obviously has so much work so I have to help him at that point. I ask him and remind him to do it earlier but nothing helps. I don’t know what to do at this point. I feel he is an adult and should be able to handle one chore and I’m really tired of this.
