Crush on a male co-worker

I met this person last June or July in the kitchen (common area) at work, we both work for the same company but in different departments. I went into the kitchen to wash my cup and straw out and that's when I met him, he was eating lunch and was smelling it and said "mmmm that smells so good...what are you eating?" He replied with "garlic shrimp but it's not very filling for $20." I introduced myself to him and he did the same..let's call him SAM.

We have been having breakfast in the kitchen technically around the same time in the morning, his schedule is 8:30 am-4:30 pm and mine is 9-5. When we started out he sat at a table in the back of the kitchen and I sat at a table closer to the entrance. We have been talking and getting to know each other just as strangers and then more like coworkers. Eventually about 4 months later we started talking more about MK1, and how he was not into the game but I was, and in February I was able to get his number after we finished breakfast. February is my birthday and after my birthday trip I saw him in the kitchen and he started sitting at my table right across from me, I was shocked but excited. I noticed that he had started calling me by a nickname. Let's call me JoAnn and he called me Jo. Remember we are still at work so NO ONE calls me Jo they call me by my name, and it was a really nice feeling. I started having a crush on SAM and of course I didn't tell him, however he always tries to have breakfast together every time we are both in the office. I don't know when it started happening but he started to take his lunch when I take mines..mind you my lunch is at 12 ish and his I believe is between 1-2 pm yet he seems to always find a way to meet me during lunch in the kitchen. This past July hr bought me lunch and while waiting for it we took a stroll around the block and just talked...omg it was nice I felt like I was in a Hallmark movie. I didn't like the lunch and he felt bad I told him not to and the next lunch was on me.

SAM's birthday was coming up and I gave him an awesome birthday card and treated him to lunch, he carried the food and drinks and we walked back to work and he held the door open for me. The piece of the resistance was that I went to wash my hands and when I came out of the bathroom he was already setting up our lunch for us. We had shake shack so as you know burgers drip, so he put the bag down just in case it leaks on me and he had the plastic bag just in case it leaks on him. I felt so special even though it was his birthday but I felt like a princess I know that's not a huge gesture but it was big to me.

I'm not too sure if SAM likes me as more than a coworker or he's just trying to be a gentleman. I'm kind of slow in this department I can't really tell if someone likes me as more than just a friend or just things I'm a nice person.

Hopefully I have some updates at the story and I apologize for the novel. Wish me luck
