Pump Settings?

I’m 2.5 weeks PP and have been EBF. I just wanted to start pumping. I have the Spectra S2. What settings do you use? Also do you pump right after feeding baby or wait awhile?

Again here to say not advised at all to pump on top of nursing before 6wks pp. let baby regulate your supply and only nurse. You can easily create a major over supply before it’s even regulated. And that can cause a mess of problems.

It’s recommended to not pump in the first 6 weeks unless away from baby. 
When you do start pumping (I assume to build a small stash ), just add in one pump session a day. It’ll be best to add that session after the first morning feed. 
Remember your freezer only needs 30-40oz in it at a time. That’s 2-3 days worth of feeds (assuming you are working 8-12hr shifts). 
For pump settings, you may have to play around with it. It really depends on how you respond to the different settings. You can google a starting point.

Unless you NEED to start storing milk or are replacing a feed, I wouldn’t start pumping until at least 6 weeks PP once your supply has regulated. Pumping too soon after delivery can throw you into an oversupply and trust me, it’s a bitch to manage. 
As for the settings, I usually start in “letdown” mode until I have a letdown. Then switch to suction and slowly increase it. You should keep it as high as is comfortable for you. I usually switch back to letdown mode once I notice the milk flow slowing/stopping.
