Friend keeps standing me up
So my best friend of ten years all through grade school moved away. She’s a few states away and I can’t visit her easily anymore, we are both grown now and have husbands. She told me a week ago she was coming in town and wanted to hang out. So we made plans to hang out tonight. Since she lives far and I don’t get to see her much I cleared my schedule for tonight and I was so excited to see her. I called her around 1pm and asked hey when do you want to hang out today? We agreed around dinner and that we would go out and get dinner together, she told me she was leaving her dads house and she would let me know when she’s free. So I waited and then it’s like 5pm, I’m still waiting. I look online and on her stories she’s having fun with one of our mutual friends and they are eating dinner together and taking selfies of them and their food. She texts me and says hey what’s up? I said hey nothing much, she says cool and continues posting about her and posting the food they are eating together. It’s like 11pm at this point so I text her and I said hey I cleared my schedule so I could hang out with you tonight and it’s fine if your busy with someone else but maybe next time just let me know ahead of time? Because you kinda wasted my time.
Her reply was basically that she was so sorry and she completely forgot and our mutual friend lives like 3 minutes from her so it was just easy. I have not responded. I feel like it was a slap in the face that I had to see online and it would be been fine if she wanted to reschedule because our other friend was closer but why not just let me know that? Should I just accept her apology and just let it go? Also if she forgot then WHY was she texting me DURING their meal? Like what?
