Husband had a day off and left the whole day
My husband had off of work today. He decided to spend the entire day at his parents house, while I got the kids up for school, drove them to school. Picked them up from school and drove our daughter to dance practice. I stay at home with our youngest and felt awful today, fever, cough, sore throat.
If he had work today, it wouldn’t really phase me that he was gone all day, but the fact that he couldn’t help out on a day he has off? Is this wrong to think?
Should he get a “free” day off of everything since he had off work? I also made dinner, did homework with the kids, we have four kids. I got them showered.
He left in the morning and didn’t say goodbye or where he was going until I texted him and asked where he went. He typically goes to his parents when he gets an off day of work.
Would this also upset anyone? If I brought it up to him that it bothered me, he would tell me to “get over myself.”
Edited to add: To the person who said if the tables were turned and I had off work, and he was sick. There’s not a chance he would let me go anywhere or would he be able to take care of the kids. 🫠
I always have to be the trooper and it’s exhausting.
Also, he didn’t bring the youngest because he usually drinks with his family. They are retired and are alcoholics. He knows he can’t drink if the kids are along.
