Was a rotator cuff tear surgery worth it for you?

I’ve had pain for months almost even a year now, it got so bad once I couldn’t drive and the pain was unbearable ,doctors said it was calcium tendinitis until I got an MRI . I have a tear and they said I need surgery or I could wait it out but it could get worse. I’m scared of the long recovery process and of the side effects.. has anyone had the surgery and was it worth it?

My mother got that same surgery back in 2013 and she’s been great..

I’ve had 2 shoulder surgeries. Not rotator cuff but the anterior and posterior labrum and a bicep tendon. Recovery does suck. Have to be in an immobilizer for 6-8wks. PT for a few months. I should have a 3rd surgery as I have another suspected anterior labrum tear but I’m not getting it done until absolutely needed. 
If it’s causing you pain and physically restricting you from daily activity yes you need the surgery. The whole thing sucks but in the end you’re better off getting it fixed.
