How did you process that you're pregnant?

It might be a bit of a weird question, but let me explain. I've wanted a child for a while now and my partner finally decided that he's ready too. We're just over 30 years old, so everyone kept saying that the longer we'd wait the harder it would be to conceive. That we must be prepared that it might take a year! Well, we kept that in mind and we started trying.

When we started, I knew it was about the middle of my cycle, but I didn't want to scare my partner or make him nervous about what we were doing (ditching the condom after a long time seemed weird). When my next period came, I felt a bit relieved. It gave me a moment to accept what we were trying to do.

Well, the next period was supposed to come on Monday and the pregnancy test wasn't supposed to show anything, but it showed a faint line. Now my partner is at the stage I was last month :D realising what we're doing.

I'm at the same time happy and scared and can't really imagine what's ahead of me. Everyone kept preparing me for a long wait, so I wasn't prepared that it would happen right away!

How did you process the your first positive test?
