Missing money ?! 🧐

So my BD & I went to the bank last Tuesday November 12th I had to deposit some checks & I took out $8,000 in cash to covers bills & start early Christmas shopping . All of the cash is in my purse . Before we start shopping we go & have lunch I had a glass of wine & he has shots & we ate our lunch everything was good I give him my purse to hold so I can go to the restroom ; we go shopping afterwards … I go into Victoria secret alone & he goes into the next several stores … We’ve been at the mall almost four hours so we both hands full of shopping bags heading out the mall we get home … I count my money there’s only $6,000 !!! I don’t say anything because I’m trying to backtrack our day in my head … today November 18th I’m calling the bank , the mall , Best Buy everywhere we went that day ! I get a call from the mall security she tells me she sees my BD put an envelope in his back right pocket ?! I’m like HMMM OKAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY so when I get home of course I’m questioning him & he starts flipping out yelling at me saying he doesn’t have it he doesn’t know where it is this & that even tells me since I really don’t believe him then we should call it quits ?! So I’m trying to view the situation from all angles am I overreacting to think that he stole the money ?! 🙄
