Room design help/suggestions?

This is a small living room/sitting room or maybe a family room? The floor plan has it as a “parlor” we recently remodelled this space and now I need to figure out what furniture to get for it. Any suggestions? And like furniture placement … there’s that odd half wall with the staircase

(We do have a separate living room with 2 couches and a fireplace)
