Irritated left side vag

So I accidentally got carried away with scrubbing down there because it was itchy in the shower not sure if it was due to the soap or not I’m 💯 % std free ! I notice my skin started burning a little where I irritated it and the next day I woke up with the left side of my lower vag area swollen and now it’s causing pain inside the left area. I spoke to my obgyn he was on call and I told him what’s going on he said give it a day or two to see how I feel if not better I can come in to see him. I regret using the loofa down there because I was definitely too rough and now I’m worried I have some sort of infection and it’s causing the swollenness and pain inside on my side. Any ladies ever experienced this?
