Anyone else getting push back from family and friends about having to be up to date on all vaccines before visiting the new baby? I have a public health degree and an immune disorder along with my partner having a different immune disorder and asthma. On top of this baby is going to be born early because of complications, and its the middle of the sick season. So we have made the rule if you want to come visit you must be up to date on all vaccines (especially flu, covid, tdap, and RSV for those old enough) and must not have been sick in the past week. I'm being told by some this is too harsh, however I dont really care, mine and my family's health is more important. I respect individuals right to make an educated decision for themselves but I wont risk the health of my premature newborn.
