Boyfriend gets UTIs constantly

@Marsha he's already been to a urologist. He used to go because he would wet the bed a lot from childhood to college. He stopped going because he stopped wetting the bed regularly. He doesn't think there's much a urologist can do for him now

@UnicornsAreReal I was told you can get UTIs from sex. That why women are supposed to pee after sex.

@S I do trust him. At the same time he's my first serious relationship where as my best friend has been in many and has been married a few times. She has always said she knows how men are and she's just looking out for me. Like I said. I never said he made up the abuse story. I simply wondered how medically plausible that is to cause constant UTIs

@Katie I'm not saying that. I'm saying that my friend thinks he's cheating with all the UTIs he gets. Especially since they aren't as common in men. I'm just asking if it's possible to have a UTI problem from that?

When me and my boyfriend first started dating he told me he does get UTIs often. I thought nothing of it. We've been together 9 months and he gets UTIs monthly at LEAST! Sometimes more. I'm wondering if that means cheating. My best friend said he's definitely cheating to be getting UTIs that much. We talked about it and he confessed to me that when he was a kid he and his mom lived with his grandparents and his grandfather started sexually abusing him when he was 4. It didn't stop until he left for college. He also said his grandfather was very violent about it and would sexually abuse him so violently it would take him days to weeks to recover and he thinks that's why he kept getting UTIs when he was so young and over the years his grandfather managed to cause permanent damage his urethra which doesn't help with his UTIs. I'm not a doctor so I really don't know which one is more plausible. I don't want to outright accuse him of cheating when he just told me something so personal. I just want to know if the story he told me is possible
